For this section i think it is more relevant to replace 'gear' with 'activity', as people mostly check in for the activity.
Show gear with in a pop up window upon click.
Activity is mostly the first, gear is mostly addition or complementary to the activity.
At front desk when a customer walks in they ask and confirm 'Hey David! Welcome, you are here for your 2 tank guided dive/refresher/etc, correct?'
